Excellence Training Camps (ETC) and the Norristown Crush are teaming together to bring a new tournament to the Tri-State volleyball community. ETC is making a move into the world of volleyball after excelling in the softball arena for many years. Teaming with the Crush provides the stability of a respected, established tournament as they make this move.

The ETC/CRUSH OPEN Grass Volleyball Tournament will be similar to the Norristown Crush with just a few variations and changes in divisions. Saturday play will include Men’s Pro, A, BB/B, Women’s Pro, A, and BB/B. Junior girls 18 and under will also be contested on Saturday. Sunday’s play will include Co-Ed Pro/AA, A, BB/B. The Quad’s division will have A, BB/B with a 5th player being allowed to sub on the team at no additional cost. This was the most popular request last year for the Norristown Crush and a good one. Men’s and Women’s Pro will pay out 80% of the entry fees taken in. Co-Ed Pro/AA will pay out a combination of 50% of the entry fees taken in and prizes. No Pro players will be allowed to play in Co-Ed A. No exceptions. The Crush group is making a concentrated effort to have players play in their correct divisions. Obvious sandbaggers will be asked to leave the tournament and have their names forwarded to other promoters who may/should care about this big problem.

Players please pre-register by May 27, 2009 to avoid the $20 late fee which will be strictly enforced. Walk-ons not only cost more but slow down the start of any tournament, so please register early.

Many thanks to Limerick Recreation Director Karen Hegedus for her help with this tournament. Karen also coaches at nearby Spring Ford High School and is in the process of raising funds so that her team can play in a tournament in Florida at Disney World over the Labor Day weekend this year. A portion of our sponsorship will be presented to Karen and her girls at the start of the ETC/CRUSH Tournament.
